Greetings SSP supporters! Welcome to the Summer 2007 edition of the Saving Shelter Pets newsletter.
It’s hard to believe that summer is here already. It’s a fun time of year - the kids are out of school, everyone is taking vacations, socializing with family and friends, and enjoying the warm weather. However, it’s also a very busy and trying time of year for Saving Shelter Pets’ rescue efforts. The shelters take in an overwhelming number of animals in the spring and summer. Many of our no-kill rescues have all the animals they can handle, and even our Georgia area boarding facilities have limited room for rescue dogs because they are boarding pets whose owners are vacationing.
So please don’t forget about your friends at Saving Shelter Pets, who are working hard through the summer (and fall, winter, and spring too!) to help companion animals find the homes they deserve.
I know what you’re thinking - Summer is such a busy time! Between vacation and home improvement projects, I spent all my cash and have nothing left to give!! What is an animal lover to do, you ask? Well – Saving Shelter Pets has a number of great fundraising and affiliate programs for you!

If you’re cleaning out your attic, closet, or garage this summer and auctioning some of that stuff on eBay – you can list those auctions on eBay through MissionFish, and give SSP whatever percentage of the proceeds you choose. Visit this link to sign up, download the iGive shopping window, and then shop online as you normally do. When you visit one of the many stores that are associated with iGive (and there are a lot of them!), a notification window will automatically appear telling you what percentage of your purchase from the site will be donated to SSP! After you sign up once on your PC, iGive does everything else automatically. It’s that simple!
