All merchants participating in this event are donating 20% of their proceeds to Saving Shelter Pets, Inc. The funds from this event will benefit our Spay/Neuter program, and will be used to assist CatNappers in their ongoing TNR work on feral cat colonies in southwestern Georgia.
About TNR:
TNR stands for Trap, Neuter, Return. Cats are humanely trapped, taken to the vet to be neutered or spayed (as well as vaccinated), and then returned to their colony.
The benefits of TNR:
- cats in the colony are healthier when vaccinated & sterilized
- prevents future litters and therefore keeps the homeless cat population down
- allows feral cats to live out their lives rather than be euthanized in a shelter
The collaboration between Saving Shelter Pets and Catnappers has provided spay and neuter surgeries for over 180 cats in 2009 alone! Please support these merchants in this event, so that SSP can continue to fund this valuable effort!

Saving Shelter Pets (SSP) is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) animal welfare organization. We facilitate rescues from high-kill animal shelters and promote spay & neuter, in an effort to give all pets the chance at life they truly deserve. SSP is a small, all-volunteer organization with supporters and volunteers located throughout the country. We rely solely on donations to continue our rescue and spay/neuter efforts.
